Job Description

Facility: Valleywise Health Medical Center

Department: Marketing and Communications

Schedule: Regular FT 40 Hours Per Week

Shifts: Days

Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications and Marketing, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will play a crucial role in promoting Valleywise Healths services, enhancing our brand presence, and engaging with our community. We are looking for someone with marketing content creation and communications skills who can work closely with the rest of the Strategy, Marketing, and Communications team to help connect the dots as we develop and implement strategic marketing and communications initiatives that effectively communicate the hospital's offerings and values.
This professional will also elevate our brand and reputation across multiple stakeholder audiences and communications channels, including newsletters, blogs, websites, and social media. They will identify and develop high-quality marketing and visual content for internal and external communications and ensure all messages are aligned across internal and external websites, social media channels, and digital and print ads.
This position person will also provide logistical support, as needed. This role presents a unique opportunity to learn about the strategy and business of healthcare marketing and communications at the highest level and work on impactful projects. Success in this role requires a highly motivated individual who takes initiative and is looking to learn and grow with a great team and organization.
Annual Salary Range: $65,686.40 - $96,886.40
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a bachelors degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
  • A masters degree is desirable.
Experience:
  • Requires at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience involving multiple marketing communications disciplines that demonstrate an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Prefer experience or understanding of the public healthcare industry and academic medical centers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in social media management platforms (e.g., Hootsuite) and social media analytics tools.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to create compelling content for various channels.
  • Proficiency in photography and videography, including some experience with editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and design.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
