Job Description

Arizona State University’s Enterprise Marketing Hub is seeking a Marketing Data and Systems Director to lead the data strategy for the Enterprise Marketing Hub. In this position, the Marketing Data and Systems Director will provide data and analytics solutions for performance management, creative, brand strategy and data science teams. Under the direct supervision of the Sr Director of Marketing Technologies and Integration, the Marketing Data and Systems Director will work with key stakeholders throughout the university to translate business strategy and vision into a data strategy.

 

The Marketing Data and Systems Director must be a critical thinker, self starter, relationship builder, technology/data enthusiast and be extremely organized. Must have experience with multiple data platforms, experience defining integrated solutions, and be willing to be hands on. Strong problem solving skills and relationship building skills are a necessity as this position will work closely with the University Technology Office (UTO).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND eight (8) years of related administrative experience, which includes five (5) years of supervisory experience; OR, Twelve (12) years of related administrative experience, which includes five (5) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications · Knowledge of performance marketing technologies and how data can amplify their impact (ex: Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics, CDP’s, etc…) · Experience with Salesforce CRM and AWS. · Experience with Alteryx and SQL. · BI and analytics experience is a plus · Experience in a complex Data Warehouse environment. Ability to identify what tables hold what data. · Ability to run queries utilizing those tables. · Data governance experience. · Experience in building dashboard and reports using tools such as Tableau. · Results-oriented and data-driven experince with an innate ability to tell the story behind the numbers. · Ability to think strategically, holistically, and articulate how data can help support meeting organization objectives. · Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and experience successfully managing multiple, high-priority projects simultaneously with tight deadlines. · Experience in being organized, self-motivated and adaptable to change.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties · Document and maintain the Marketing Hub’s data architecture. · Design and implement a data roadmap that will enhance actionable data and data insights. · Create, implement and manage an effective marketing data governance strategy. · In collaboration with Marketing Hub and UTO, use data analysis and visual communication skills to help tell stories that are hidden in our constituent data through the development of dashboards and reporting tools. · Build solutions that leverage ASU’s AWS environment for data storage, analysis and visualization. · Manage a team of data professionals and provide professional coaching. · Support Data Scientists to ensure they have the right solutions for their data modeling needs. · Partner with the University Technology Office (UTO) to build a robust data solution that leverages enterprise solutions. · Manage and develop testing programs for new releases of CRM applications to identify changes and/or revisions, which impact operations. · Actively participate in data projects that include data mapping, process creation and maintenance, data governance definition, data integrity plans and testing. · Remain abreast of data and analytics trends, and provides expertise to provide ideas, guidance and recommendations. · Be hands on and work with various data systems such as Peoplesoft and Salesforce. · Build data extensions within Salesforce for Salesforce Marketing Cloud. · Perform other duties as may be assigned.
