JOB SUMMARY
Provides relaxation, therapeutic, deep tissue, and other specialty massages as certified, and promotes and develops the massage therapy program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/EXPECTATIONS
- Always consults with customer to select and administer appropriate massage techniques based on client request, medical history, and with physician clearance as needed (all inpatient massages). Educates all clients on what to expect from and how to prepare for massage therapy treatment sessions by using AIDET.
- Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction and follows up with clients to ensure satisfaction and return appointments.
- Maintains records on each client including history, response to treatment and other pertinent information using standard department format and always respects all confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Actively seeks opportunities within and outside the network to expand and promote the massage therapy program. Uses Managing Up for referrals and asks pertinent questions to best service customers. Utilizes opportunities to expand their services by helping out with chair massages throughout the network and community.
- Always maintains determined stock levels of clinic supplies, equipment, forms and linens. Communicates with leader on what needs to be ordered, while being aware of budget and expense for their area.
- Cross markets services with clients by selling personal training or introducing new people to the Wellness Center to encourage membership and appreciate the other services offered.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma required. Certification by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) strongly preferred; certification through other agencies may be accepted.
- Must be licensed in the state of Wisconsin or eligible; if eligible, must obtain license within six months of hire.
- Massage therapy experience preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills. Is organized and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPR certification required.
