Pin Puller - Fiber Department - Conover, NC

Material Handler

Carpenter Co. has an immediate openings for a Material Handler (Pin Puller) in our 2nd shift Fiber Department (4:00pm - 12:00am) at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant. This position works on a production line assisting polyester products though the process of rolling and packaging. The Material Handler communicates with the department supervisor, department operators and other production personnel. This position works in a normal manufacturing/warehouse environment with constant exposure to temperature changes.

Position Description

• Occasionally operates powered industrial forklifts to pick up, move, or unload material in support of Fiber operations, as necessary, from production area and the loading docks.
• Properly label all fiber finished material for future use.
• Follow the Fiber department layout plan for proper storage locations.
• Able to read and completely understand the labeling process.
• Perform housekeeping on equipment and surrounding work area.
• Perform weekly/monthly inventory, as required by location.

Requirements and Experience

• High school education or GED.
• Prior experience in manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience driving a sit down forklift.
• Able to read and completely understand the labeling process.
• Must have basic reading writing, and math skills.
