Our Hospice Medical Director assumes overall medical responsibility for the Hospice patients and oversees the program for quality delivery of services, including the scheduling and oversight of the practice of on-staff Hospice Physicians and Nurse Practitioners. The Hospice Medical Director drives best clinical practices within the agency, improving outcomes for the patients and families we serve.

The Hospice Medical Director provides and assures that all hospice medical services and treatments are medically appropriate; ensures medical eligibility for Hospice benefit in accordance with Medicare/Medicaid, insurance guidelines and State/Federal regulations, provides assessments, treatment and health teaching to hospice patients, and provides education and support to hospice clinicians.

Position requires State of Wisconsin MD (Doctor of Medicine) plus Hospice and Palliative board certification. Candidates must also have a comprehensive knowledge of medicine, pharmacology and pain/symptom management, as well as, an acute understanding and knowledge of the death, dying, grieving and bereavement process. This position will travel throughout our service area (Ozaukee, Washington, Milwaukee, Waukesha and Racine Counties) and requires a reliable vehicle, WI driver's license, and proof of current auto insurance.

Full-Time or Part-Time, Does include an on-call rotation.
