  • &nbsp&nbspDEFINITION: Supports the technology needs and the library program of the school under supervision of the IT Department with guidance from the site principal and librarian.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    TASKS:
    Responds to work orders as dispatched by IT Help Desk and maintains daily work log.
    Monitors and helps maintain site inventory, including school assets, student devices, and library inventory.
    Supports and assists Librarian in duties of maintaining the school library operations including supervision of students.
    Assists with distribution and collection of library materials (to include fines, etc.)
    Coordinates and collaborates with Information Technologies central technicians.
    Works closely with school administration, teachers, and staff to understand needs, including application maintenance, modifications, and new needs.
    Resolves end-user problems at school site.
    Performs hardware and software configuration, installation and maintenance of digital devices for school – including laptops, desktops, printers, monitors, scanners, etc.
    Documents all changes to school computing devices.
    Responsible for and maintains digital device asset management of all devices allocated to school site.
    Provides team leadership in the deployment and return of one-to-one laptops.
    Maintains neat and orderly work area.
    Performs data entry as needed.
    Performs other technical support duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
    Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
    Knowledge of common problems with computers.
    Knowledge of program languages for personal computers.
    Knowledge of software manuals and technical support.
    Knowledge of library programs.
    Skill in developing computer applications.
    Skill in maintaining inventory.
    Skill in preparing and maintaining documents and reports.
    Skill in following oral and written instructions.
    Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent walking, bending, sitting, vision to monitor and lifting up to 20 pounds. May be exposed to dangerous or inadequate equipment.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree or Certification in Technology or related field required and minimum two (2) years experience providing technical support for computers. Experience working in a library environment preferred.
    Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District.

    Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.

    Salary Grade: 15 Hourly Pay: $15.50 Hours per Day: 8 Days in Contract: 211
    Start Date: 2020/2021 School Year
