Job Description
Job Title: Media Minister Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Department/Location: Saint Pius X Roman Catholic Parish - Tucson
Primary Function: Under the direction of the Media Director is responsible for performing during the weekly liturgical live streaming program for Sunday and liturgical celebrations. The employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, "Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received." (Eph. 4:1)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this Ministerial Position:
  • Perform as a lay minister in support of the parishs spiritual and pastoral mission.
  • Recognize and support the unique Catholic Mission of the School by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The employee may not espouse, in word or deed, any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Give evidence of living Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of a personal faith journey; strive to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example.
  • Attend liturgies and functions as scheduled by the Director.
  • Be well-versed in the liturgy of the Church and the propriety of the duties including an understanding of the rubrics of the Church.
  • Maintain a special respect for the church building during functions and prior to and after liturgies.
  • Attend Media Ministry meetings in order to address all aspects of a media ministry in the parish.
  • Renew your ministerial commitment by participation in parish Liturgy Convocation, media ministry retreats, and other events scheduled by the parish for ministry renewal.
  • Maintain media space in the church, including storing all equipment and materials appropriately, and keeping area clear of clutter.
  • Be accountable to the Pastor through the Media Director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal media and office environment.
Required Activities: Walking; sitting; standing; stooping; reaching; talking; handling, hearing; carrying; and keyboarding.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Possess a working knowledge of, and a strong commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church; must also be a practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church
  • Employ flexibility and follow direction; be a team player and be self-motivated
  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency
  • Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, parishioners and the general public
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to successfully pass a background and criminal history check.
  • Clean and neat personal appearance
Education and Experience:
  • Experience with various cameras and media equipment and programs.
Other/Preferred Skills:
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English)
