Compensation (Pay): $16.43 to $23.83/per hour based on experience. A $1000 sign on bonus will be paid in the following manner: $300 payout upon 30 days of employment, $300 payout upon 90 days of employment, and $400 payout upon one year of employment*.
*Current employees are not eligible for the sign on bonus.

Job Summary: Provides patient care under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider. Schedules appointments and perform the necessary intake function for arrive patients, assists in questions, directors telephone calls, and other patient service duties. Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the provider, patient, and assigned area. The Medical Assistant contributes to the success of the clinic by ensuring the quality of care provided to the patient.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Orients, trains, precepts, and on-boards new staff as directed.
  • Responsible for attending all required Peak Vista meetings.
  • Promotes and participates in the team-based care model.
  • Must complete MA competency skills check within 90 days of hire and all ongoing required competencies, trainings, and assessments.
  • Responsible for ensuring patient treatment areas are clean, organized, and follow Peak Vista safety and compliance standards.
  • Promotes and demonstrates the mission, vision, and Core Values of Peak Vista.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with all departments, the management team, medical staff, and leadership.
  • Embraces cultural diversity amongst ourselves and our community.
  • Ability to identify and report incidents appropriately and document patient complaints.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements.
  • Strives to deliver the best outcomes and highest quality service.
  • Enhances the effectiveness; efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improvement goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Certification, Licensure:

Registered/Certified Medical Assistant or Colorado EMT; current CPR (BLS) certification.

Work Experience:

Relevant healthcare experience preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, business agreements, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual (Spanish) desired.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems through utilization of critical thinking skills. Ability to interpret and implement a variety of instructions communicated in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge, experience with use of electronic health records, internet, database software, and keyboard skills.

Physical Demands:

Long periods of standing, moving, and sitting. Frequent bending and fine motor skills. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Must be able to get from one clinic site to related locations. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. Must be able to support/lift 50 pounds.
