Job Description:

PER DIEM

Under the leadership of the director and assistant director and under the direction and clinical supervision of the Physician and/ or Nurse Practitioner, the medical assistant is responsible for assisting in the treatment of patients by performing the following duties: performs basic administrative technical and medical supportive services for a licensed physician and or Nurse Practitioner.

Experience:

Previous experience with mental health/substance abuse patients is preferred. Demonstrated ability to write routine reports and correspondence using proper grammar and spelling. Ability to speak effectively with patients, customers or employees of the organization. Must maintain strict patient confidentiality, adhering to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations. Familiar with a PC and basic software, such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, etc.

Must be able to provide medical support to include IM injections, vital signs and able to provide continuous observation of patients undergoing medication treatment at the clinic.

Education:

Course to achieve a Medical Assistant Certificate is required.

Licensure/Certification:

National Healthcareer Association certification or equivalent must be obtained within 6 months of hire.. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.

De-escalation training, provided by CHOMP to be completed within 6 months of hire.
