This position is part of a highly skilled technical research and reporting team supporting multiple Aetna Medicaid plans across the country. The work done here to turn complex data into information is used every day and the successful candidate will be working closely with colleagues from many disciplines across the company to ensure that timely, accurate, and thorough information is available. This is a learning role integrating a wide array of information from subject matter experts, healthcare and financial laws and regulations, and internal policies. It requires creative analytical approaches using a variety of reporting technologies and methods.
Role At-A-Glance:
* Responsible for the development and maintenance of structured reports and ad-hoc analyses that support financial operations and strategic decision making
* Applies understanding of Medicare and Medicaid programs to ensure reporting is in line with business rules, policy, and other requirements
* Provides consultation on the design, testing, and enhancement of reports including technical assistance support to internal customers
* Develops and maintains reporting data warehouses using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Server Information Studio (SSIS)
* Provides oversight of data quality and provides feedback to business areas in order to improve service delivery, data integrity, and outcomes
* Contributes to a motivated work environment by working effectively to achieve common goals
* Critically reviews and revises existing processes and applications for updates to policies and program enhancements
* Identifies data, system and operational issues and recommends solutions and changes to streamline

Required Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in the managed care industry with knowledge of eligibility, claims adjudication, reserving, financial reporting or related experience
* 3+ years of experience within analytics of finance or related experience
* Strong SQL and/or SAS programming skills
* Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid strongly preferred
* Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivots, dynamic visualizations, VBA)
* Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
* Ideal candidate will have health services research or epidemiology background/education

* Bachelor's degree in related field
