Position Summary

The UNM Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Medical Education Program Assistant 1 to support all aspects of the General Psychiatry Residency Program. Position will support Medical Education Program Specialist, Program Director, and Vice Chair of Education and serve as first point of contact for residents and faculty of the Education Division. Will work alongside Vice Chair of Education in planning, coordinating and implementing weekly departmental lecture series (Grand Rounds) and with Program Specialist in planning and execution of resident recruitment and orientation.
Job responsibilities include: organizing, coordinating, and managing regular Education events; recording and maintaining data of attendance for lectures and events; tracking, managing and entering resident and faculty evaluations; and working with Medical Education Program Specialist and Program Director in creating didactic schedule.
Position will compose, transcribe, edit and distribute correspondence, agendas and minutes for meetings; collect data and run reports; maintain files and distribute course materials. Will also record and report resident leave; manage Resident Education Fund; coordinate travel and process reimbursements. Will hold a UNM purchasing card.
The Medical Education Program Assistant 1 will answer phones and respond to inquiries for the Education Division and provide support and back-up for the Fellowship program. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, be a superb organizer and have exceptionally strong computer skills.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Ability to workindependently.
  • Able to communicate effectively, professionally, inclusively andin a timely manner, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability toprioritize tasks on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Demonstrated effectivenessworking in a team environment and supporting fellow employees in their work.
  • Experience working on multiple computer software applications and confident inlearning new systems.
