Medical Records Analyst & Coder

The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing electronic medical record analysis, coding and billing functions for the primary care centers located at the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Brighton, Big Cypress, Hollywood, and Immokalee Health Centers. The individual receives information and other data electronically via the Nextgen Electronic Health Record (EHR) system from the various health discipline departments of the Seminole Tribe of Florida primary care centers to be analyzed and coded to the appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT procedural codes. High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Medical Coding is required. Must possess Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist- Physician Based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Professional Coder in Dermatology (CPC-D) coding certification. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages, including MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook. Demonstrate proficiency in Nextgen software. Individual must possess proficiency in ICD-10-CM coding, CPT coding and Medical terminology. Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver's License. Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Must possess a Florida Driver's License. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
