Medical Technologist / MLT - FT

FT, 80 hrs/pp, 1.0 FTE; mid-shift 11:30 AM-8 PM and 1:30 PM-10 PM EOW, varies as scheduled.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager performs laboratory tests and procedures required to provide data for diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

PhD, MS, BS, or Associates degree in lab, science. OR

Education or experience equivalent to an AA degree AND graduated from a clinical laboratory training program, OR Three months experience in each specialty of high complexity testing performed. OR

HS diploma/equivalent prior to 4/24/95 AND graduated from an HHS-approved lab training program OR completed Military Medical Lab Specialist (50-week course). OR

HS diploma/equivalent AND documentation of training for high complexity testing prior to 4/24/95 AND if training before 1/19/93, requires supervisory review within 24 hours OR if training after 1/19/93, requires on-site supervision when high complexity testing is performed.

Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or its equivalent, and

Meet other qualifications specified by Federal regulation 493.1431 or its successor.

Licensure & Certification Requirements:

ASCP Certification or Equivalent
