MEG Technician
Job Description
The Mind Research Network (MRN), a division of the Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute (LBRI), is currently seeking an MEG Technician for Dr. Stephens lab. The successful candidate who fills this position will perform routine and complex procedures to obtain data for use in the research and diagnosis of clinic disorders of the nervous system using Magnetoencephalography (MEG). The Technician will work as part of a team performing MEG scans for patients and research participants, as well as assist on grant-funded studies. The Technician will be responsible for MEG/neuroimaging data collection, as well as be involved with research interactions (recruiting, screening, and scheduling research participants), laboratory processing of participant samples (e.g., blood, saliva), data entry, data analyses, compliance with human research regulations, and other duties as needed. As this position involves working as part of a research team, as well as working with sensitive populations and clinical patients, applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Requires a Bachelors degree and two year experience in a research or clinical setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be proficient in Linux or Unix and have basic knowledge of electronic test equipment.
Requires a professional demeanor, strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills, excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.
Experience in human subject research, ability to troubleshoot, comfortable with managing/maintaining equipment and working with participants.
Work is performed in a dry laboratory environment. Will operate standard office equipment and will frequently stand, walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, perform repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 20 pounds. May interact with research participants.

Salary is commensurate with experience + $500 sign-on bonus.
