Milieu Coordinator - Evening Shift (PRN)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Monitor shift change activities to assign staff, review staffing for the units and adjusts as necessary.
• Facilitate and monitor patient care and programming.
• Review medical records for timely documentation as required.
• Facilitate the individual admission and discharge processes, as well as patient transfers.
• Review and monitor required paperwork for completion and timeliness requirements.
• Facilitate person-centered planning process with individuals to assess and develop plans based on their needs.
• Train and mentor direct care staff during the shift as necessary, or as assigned by the Milieu Manager.
• Audit individual records to ensure regulatory requirements are met. Report issues to supervisor as necessary regarding compliance.
• Respond to individual, family and guardians regarding concerns.
• Report pertinent information to the Milieu Manager in a timely manner.
• Perform direct care duties as required.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent with four or more years experience in a behavioral health environment required; OR
• Associates Degree in a human service field with two or more years experience in a behavioral health environment required.
• Two or more years experience with the population of the facility preferred.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications:

• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.

ADDITIONAL REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Under the supervision of Director of BHIF Clinical Services, the Milieu Coordinator is an integral member of the Treatment Team, who coordinates the duties of the BHT staff on shift, under direction of the Director of BHIF Clinical Services. The Milieu Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and staffing for all BHTs, ensures that there is the necessary coverage for shifts according to census guidelines. The Milieu Coordinator is aware of the overall patient needs on each shift and ensures that all staff is appropriately responsive to these needs. The Milieu Coordinator actively demonstrates, teaches and models OBHs strengths -based treatment philosophy. The Milieu Coordinator observes staff interactions / performance with individual patients, and mentors or trains as needed. The Milieu Coordinator may provide clinical supervision and performance management to staff provides age specific direct patient care to patients as assigned. Maintains a safe and efficient working and treatment environment per facility policies and procedures. Communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safety, quality care is provided to all patients. This job description reflects managements assignment of essential functions.
