As a Mobile Phlebotomist, your role will include engaging donor experiences, opportunities to explore local sceneries, driving as part of local "field trips" and most of all - utilizing your phlebotomy talent as a HERO.

Our Mobile Phlebotomist Drivers are responsible for the performance of routine work related to the set up/tear down or mobile sites and the screening, collection and hematroning of blood and blood products. Their frequent contact with the donor public and professionalism results in necessary blood units used to support over 170 hospitals and service partners across the Greater Gulf Coast area.

In this role, youll:

  • Operate departmental vehicle for the transporting of staff and equipment to mobile site, in accordance with the guidelines set forth by Vehicle Loss Control Committee of the Blood Center.
  • Complete pre-departure and post-draw checks of departmental vehicles and equipment.
  • Comply with existing policies and procedures. Maintain upkeep of assigned departmental equipment.
  • Assist with the loading, unloading, set-up and tear down of equipment at mobile donor sites.
  • Perform pre-donation screening, venipuncture, and post venipuncture care of donors in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Accurately and legibly complete donor records in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate strong level of customer service skills and customer service focus.
  • Identify and address non-routine situation arising during phlebotomy procedures and reports them to supervisor.
  • Attend and complete continuing education and training in phlebotomy procedures, instruments, and equipment as required.
  • Maintain acceptable level of proficiency in required phlebotomy procedures.
  • Assist other staff members in maintaining smooth workflow and processes.
  • Actively recruit donors at donor sites.

We need someone who has:

  • Earned at minimum a High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months of phlebotomy experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A Valid Texas Drivers License with one plus year driving experience and acceptable driving record.
  • The ability to establish and maintain positive rapport with donors so as to provide high level of customer service.
  • The ability to interact professionally and politely with others.

We prefer:

  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university
  • Certification in Phlebotomy
  • EMT Certification or Licenses in a related field
  • Valid CDL

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions when loading and unloading equipment at mobile sites, toxic or caustic chemicals, and blood and/or blood components, as well as other bio-hazardous material. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job duties involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood with a risk of exposure to Hepatitis and HIV.
