Scope of the Position
The processing technician is responsible for setting up injection molds and performs start-up and shut-down of molding
systems, as well as wiping a mold before start-up, verifying material and water.
Responsibilities
  • All work must be performed in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with Company Policy, local, provincial and/or federal rules and regulations;
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
  • Awareness of Environmental Policy and Quality Policy; how the positions responsibilities impact on environment and quality;
  • Personnel performing work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of on- going training,appropriate education, skills and experience;
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisors or managers to keep pace with changes in scope of work.
  • Show leadership to the workforce by his/her decision-making skills, motivational efforts, fairness and consistency so that employees are well aware of their performance and individual importance in the department
  • Complete all paperwork as required;Follow molding schedule on a daily basis;
  • Perform start-up and shutdown duties as required, which includes wiping out entire mold before start-up
  • Keep work area, racking and material clean and organized;
  • Ensure safe storage of all end of arm tools to prevent damage;
  • Report any damaged tooling;
  • Communicate to supervisor/team leader and machine operator reasons for downtime;
  • Clean cages and pits during mold changes, clean purge material from all machines on a daily bases and make sure all machines are cleaned and organized at the end of each shift.
Qualifications
  • College diploma in plastics technology/mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5-year experience in injection molding
  • Good communication (Read and comprehend instructions)
  • Organizational and dexterity skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge and experience in working with hydraulics and robotics
  • Knowledge of components and materials used in the production process
  • Basic computer skills
