Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.

Summary:

The Mortgage Insurance Claims Assistant I will provide administrative support to the MI/Government claims team to ensure efficient operation of the department. Supports departmental tasks related to organization and communication including reviewing and processing requests for documentation, handling incoming correspondence, preparing audit files, creating and updating reporting, and responds appropriately to inquiries and requests from both internal and external sources.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, log, manage and assign inbound mail (electronic and paper)
  • Catalog, file, and scan electronic and paper claim files and documentation
  • Research and respond to document requests related to loan default and origination
  • Log and process inbound and outbound partial claim documents
  • Compile and upload electronic documentation to various claim related portals
  • Assist with preparation of audit files and reporting
  • Create, prepare, and update daily reporting as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Default-related mortgage servicing experience is preferred
  • Minimum 1+ years of administrative/filing experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of default servicing preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience reviewing processes, reports, and/or documents with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders, vendors, and peers
  • Excellent problem resolution and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Self-motivated with ability to work under timelines without direct supervision

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required
  • College degree preferred but not required
