Job Description

The Mortgage Operations Manager will proactively lead a team of Mortgage Processors and Closers in achieving the highest levels of performance. The Mortgage Operations Manager is responsible for building a cohesive team, effectively managing a pipeline of mortgage applications, ensuring regulatory compliance, and the timely processing and closing of mortgage loans. Additionally, the Mortgage Operations Manager will work closely with the Sr. Director Mortgage Operations to develop and implement best practices to continually improve the department's operational performance while ensuring an exceptional borrower experience, in alignment with Define Mortgage Solutions' vision, values and strategic objectives.

What you will do:

Create a Culture of Performance by providing leadership through hands-on coaching, training and development of assigned team members to achieve production and performance goals. Establish Loan Performance expectations. Ensures team consistently meets established quality control standards. Fosters a team environment and encourages new ideas from staff members.

Supervise the day-to-day activities related to all loan processing and closing functions. Develop and maintain processes, procedures and tracking mechanisms to evaluate and provide coaching to employees in assigned area(s); manages work flow, ensures timelines, quality standards, service, and performance metrics are met.

Effectively collaborates with Mortgage Origination and Underwriting teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of first mortgage purchase and refinance transactions. Monitor and analyze active loan pipeline to ensure that delivery commitments to Fannie Mae and other government agencies are met, while loan cancellations are controlled, within the required timeframe.

Manage high confidentiality with sensitive information, such as credit and income data for employees of the credit union and its subsidiaries.

Support compliance needs and stay abreast of changes to industry and regulatory guidelines, requirements by Fannie Mae and other governmental agencies. Relay changes to staff accordingly.

Provide continued support for the development of individual employees with regard to education, critical thinking, product knowledge and skill development.

Handle borrower escalations and effectively ensures equitable and timely resolution.

This role might be for you if you have:

High School Diploma required.

5 years of Financial Institution Experience required.

3 Management/Leadership Experience required.

Microsoft Office experience required.

Bonus points if you have...

2 Mortgage/Lending experience

Fannie Mae, FHA, VA and Freddie Mac experience

Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter (DU), Accenture Mortgage Cadence LFC
