Job Description

The incumbent in this position is primarily responsible for leading tours and programs for groups of all ages throughout the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum and its boardwalk. The individual provides excellent customer service, while assisting in monitoring and enforcing Museum regulations. The Tour Guide prepares program activities and curriculum that reflects a Seminole narrative. The incumbent may assist the staff in other administrative duties including data entry, outreach presentations, and maintaining the Teaching Collection objects. High School diploma or equivalent GED is required. Two years of college with major coursework in History, Anthropology, Native Studies, Education, or related field is preferred. Prior experience as a tour guide is preferred. Knowledge in Native American art, culture and history, especially Seminole is preferred. Knowledge of Florida flora and fauna is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Professional appearance and demonstrate comfort communicating with the general public, are required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida is preferred. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
