Job Description
Under the direction of the Museum Director/Cultural Programs Coordinator. Provides monetary transactions for all customers visiting the Gift Shop & Exhibit.
Education requirements
High School diploma/GED required
Qualifications
Fluency in English and Cocopah language preferred. Spanish language fluency also a plus.
Must be at least 21 years of age, required for GSA vehicle operation.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must possess a current valid Arizona Driver's License.
Testing may be required.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Museum Director/Cultural Programs Coordinator. Provides monetary transactions for all customers visiting the Gift Shop & Exhibit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Makes cash change, accept personal/business & travelers checks and issues receipts to customers.
Manage daily banks.
Daily record amounts received and prepares reports of transactions.
End of the day verifies bank against cash on hand.
Quotes price and describes features of items for which money is received.
Follows policy & procedures of cash refunds to customers for returned merchandise.
Operates standard cash register.
Maintain daily visitor log.
Provide upkeep of merchandise & check for outdated food items & report to manager.
Maintains area within the gift shop clean including polishing any silver jewelry.
Participates in the annual Cocopah Cultural Celebration Day plans & implementation.
Attends staff meetings, training and workshops.
Other duties may be assigned.
Skills
Ability to do simple calculations.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Fluency in English and Cocopah language preferred. Spanish language fluency also a plus.
