    Position Description: Network Technician II
    Classified Non-Exempt New Hire Compensation Guide - $22.07

    Grade: Q
    Work Calendar: 12-month (260-262 Days)
    Hours per Day: 8 I.General Description:
    To provide Level III support for computers and networks across all District campuses and buildings. Installs and configures workstation images, software deployment packages, network directory configuration and group policy settings. Build and deploy district servers and maintain network infrastructure hardware. Provide support for District technical support staff.
    II.Qualifications:
    1. Must possess Associates Degree in computer technology or equivalent expertise.
    2. Must have experience with hardware and software in an Active Directory network environment; experience with Cisco networking is desired.
    3. Must possess ability to work and communicate with faculty and staff.
    4. Must have background and experience with project management.
    5. Must be comfortable training and leading professional development for District staff
    6. Must be in good physical health and able to bend, stoop, lift and reach.
    7. Must be able to push, pull, or lift weights in excess of 50 lbs.
    8. Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight spaces, i.e., trenches, attics, equipment rooms, etc.
    9. Must have and maintain a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
    III.Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Installs and configures workstation images, software deployment packages, network directory configuration and group policy settings.
    2. Build and deploy district servers and maintain network infrastructure hardware.
    3. Performs periodic maintenance, modifications, and repairs to computer systems and equipment.
    4. Installs and configures various operating systems, hardware and peripherals, and network operation systems.
    5. Assist with coordinating daily work assignments of level I and II technicians.
    6. Assist with coordinating District online assessments, ensuring a functional test environment.
    7. Performs service/repair analysis on computers and equipment.
    8. Orders, purchases and schedules parts and warranty repairs.
    9. Maintains and supports the technology inventory.
    10. Assists and provides on the job training for District technical support staff.
    11. Manages and efficiently completes assigned workload.
    12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
    13. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues.
    14. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community.
    15. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
    16. Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
    17. Performs other related duties as assigned.
