    POSITION DESCRIPTION: Network Technician I Grade: Y
    Work Calendar: 12-month (260-262 Days)
    Hours per Day: 8

    I. General Description:

    To provide Level II support for computers and networks. Installs and configures OS and application software on workstations. Manage warranty schedules, supplies and materials for repairs and replacements.

    II. Qualifications:
    1. Must possess associate degree or equivalent technical training and A+ certification in Computer Technology.
    2. Must have experience maintaining and repairing computer hardware and peripherals and running network cabling.
    3. Must have experience with hardware and software in a Windows network environment.
    4. Must have experience with inventory, scheduling and purchasing parts, as well as warranty work and supplies.
    5. Must possess ability to work and communicate with faculty and staff.
    6. Must be in good physical health and able to bend, stoop, lift and reach.
    7. Must be able to push, pull, or lift weights in excess of 50 lbs.
    8. Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight spaces, i.e., trenches, attics, equipment rooms, etc.

    III. Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
    2. Performs periodic maintenance, modifications, and repairs to computer systems and equipment.
    3. Installs and configures various operating systems, hardware and peripherals, and network operation systems.
    4. Performs service/repair analysis on computers and equipment.
    5. Orders, purchases and schedules parts and warranty repairs.
    6. Maintains and supports the technology inventory.
    7. Runs network cable and tests network equipment.
    8. Assists and provides on the job training for Network Assistants.
    9. Manages and efficiently completes assigned workload.
    10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
    11. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues.
    12. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community.
    13. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
    14. Performs other related duties as assigned.
