Compensation (Pay): $17.50 to $25.38 based on experience.

Job Summary: Responsible for providing clinic support through the proper care and handling of all Dental and Medical Clinic instrumentation. To include appropriate receiving of instrumentation, cleaning, decontaminating, packaging, and redistribution of instrumentation to specified clinics in accordance with guidelines and recommendations. This position will require excellent communication skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work as a team with minimal supervision. Associate must be able to work in a fast-paced, proactive, upbeat environment and possess critical thinking skills as it relates to Sterile Processing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Documents and maintains records for all sterilization processes. (e.g. quality control testing, sterilization, and maintenance).
  • Maintains departmental organization and cleanliness.
  • Conducts appropriate sterilization cycles needed in accordance with instrument manufacturers instructions.
  • Maintains accurate tracking/documentation for all clinic instrumentation received and distributed.
  • Maintains records of continuing education.
  • Provides appropriate communication and tag any instrumentation or equipment removed from service.
  • Verifies cleanliness of instrumentation and assemble in accordance with the instructions.
  • Prioritizes daily tasks and clinic deliveries.
  • Provides appropriate communication for needed supplies.
  • Assists with clinic instrument transportation when needed.
  • Works weekends and/or alternate shifts as necessary.
  • Performs task and responsibilities as assigned by department manager
  • Ability to travel inside and outside of the Colorado Springs area.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent education.

Work Experience: 1 year of previous experience in Sterile Processing or Dental Assistant with sterilization experience required. Active certification of CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from IAHCSMM or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician) from CBSPD or Certified Dental Assistant with sterilization experience preferred.

Certificates and Licenses: Active certification of CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from IAHCSMM or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician) from CBSPD required. Valid Colorado drivers license and proof of insurance. Must meet and maintain driver criteria as prescribed by Peak Vistas insurance underwriter.

Computer Skills: Intermediate ability to access the intra/internet to manage timecard, review policies and procedures and read company communications; use e-mail to communicate with co-workers, leadership and other departments; use and create a variety of templates, complex tables, manage table data, sort and filter merges and also perform basic work with existing Macros; customize toolbars, import and insert graphs, embed Excel data and elaborate reports; work with multiple worksheets, filter data, use integrate functions and manipulate databases; customize templates and the PowerPoint environment and to make a presentation interactive by using hyperlinks and active buttons.
