Position Summary:

Under the direction of a nuclear medicine physician, performs imaging utilizing diagnostic equipment. Performs radio-pharmacy procedures, quality control procedures, and daily monitoring procedures under the nuclear medicine physician. Must be able to collaborate and effectively communicate with physicians, other health care professionals, and patients. Full time position, competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements:

  • Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceuticals and materials; calculates and administers doses under the direct supervision of a Radiologist
  • Performs diagnostic exams on patients as prescribed by physician.
  • Uses scanners or scintillation cameras for detection of radiation emitted to produce image of organ on photographic film.
  • Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectors.
  • Follows radiation safety techniques and policies in the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
  • Instructs and prepares patient for exams.
  • Perform bone density studies.
  • Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing exams.
  • Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures
  • Compiles and maintains quality assurance information. Interacts professionally with patient/family.

Education/Experience:

  • 2 year degree
  • Minimum Experience:
  • Nuclear medicine school internship

Certification/Licensure:

  • State License
  • National Registry ARRT or CNMT
