Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The CDD NFP Nurse Educator will serve as the nurse supervisor for an evidenced-based home visiting program, Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP). The Nurse Educator will oversee eight nurse home visitors ensuring implementation of the NFP model with fidelity and in adherence to all state, federal and National Service Office (NSO) regulations. The Nurse Educator will ensure all required data is entered and reports generated meet all state and national benchmarks. The Nurse Educator will ensure the quality and productivity of the nurse home visiting staff. The Nurse Educator works collaboratively with and receives supervision from the Director of Early Childhood Prevention and Home Visiting Services.

The Nurse Educator will need reliable transportation for local travel to meetings and home visits.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in Nursing; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure: State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the multi-state privilege to practice compact with New Mexico.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Comprehensive knowledge of NFP model and experience delivering NFP HV Services.

Demonstrated program leadership and presentation skills.

Fluent in English and Spanish.

Knowledge of community outreach practices.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements The Nurse Educator will need reliable transportation for local travel to meetings and home visits. This position will require passing a CYFD Background Check with fingerprinting.
