JOB SUMMARY

As a Nurse RN -Lead, you will provide direct daily medical management of adolescent population in accordance with established nursing standards of practice under the supervision of the Nursing supervisor as well as provide review and follow-up to medical providers as to the effectiveness and/or possible side effects noted of each medication administered. Provide supervision to Licensed Practical nurse staff as well as certified nurse assistant regarding safety issues / crisis intervention of client population, as well as infection control protocols, and general overall medical management. Maintains effective communication with all departments involved with direct client care and provides education/training of direct care personnel involved clients.

Serves as back-up to Nursing Manager/Supervisor in their absence to identify coverage for vacant shifts/to cover shifts. Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Supports Nursing Manager/Supervisor by ensuring policies and procedures and licensing standards are enforced.

Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizonas 24-hour RTC and Therapeutic School, has the capacity to serve 48 children. The RTC is a safe and supportive environment that provides youth, from the ages of five to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or substance abuse challenges. We also provide an on-site accredited K-12 therapeutic school, which offers an academic curriculum while students receive intensive behavioral and emotional support.

Qualifications
  • Current valid RN license to practice in Arizona with no restrictions required
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • One (1) year nursing experience required, in addition to one (1) year supervisory experience preferred

  • Previous behavioral health experience with children/adolescents or pediatric nursing preferred

  • Ability to handle confidential information. Ability to interact with children of all ages in a supportive professional manner.
  • Ability to attend New Hire Orientation Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidates understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
