Nursing Assistant Concierge

The primary responsibility of your job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily care and services following the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care and assisted living facilities. You are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all residents, family members, and guests of the community.

  • Run errands as requested.

  • Work with various departments to facilitate those residents, family members, and visitors receiving appropriate non-medical services, such as special meals.

  • Contact residents to ensure that all of their needs are met and the experience at the community is positive.

  • Actively listen to the needs of the residents, family members, and guests of the facility and act on as appropriate.

  • Receive and report resident status at the beginning and end of each shift and as needed.

  • Report all changes in residents conditions to the Nursing Supervisor as soon as practical.

  • Record residents fluid/food intake.

  • Assist residents with hair and basic grooming.

  • Verify location of residents throughout the day.

  • Keep residents rooms neat and clean, assist with organization of drawers and closets.

  • Pass ice and water

  • Make beds, change linens, and towels.

  • Audit, clean, and label equipment.

  • Answer call lights and meet needs as able within the scope of practice.

  • Communicate needs to CNAs and nurses as needed.

  • Provide 1:1 monitoring of residents in distress, in need of a companion, or demonstrating behaviors.

  • Maintain a professional physical appearance and clean organized work space.

  • Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors.

  • Maintain and support a culture of compliance, ethics, and integrity.

  • Maintain confidentiality and rights of resident, family, employee, and facility information in compliance with PHI HIPAA policies and applicable regulations.

  • Maintain safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/JOB TRAINING

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.


Experience

  • Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.


Specific Requirements

  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as willingness to handle difficult residents.

  • Must be a supportive team member.

  • Must be able to relate information concerning a residents condition.

  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

  • Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.

  • Must be knowledgeable of computer systems, system applications, and other office equipment.

  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Works in all areas of the facility.

  • Moves intermittently during working hours.

  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.

  • Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.

  • Is subject to haostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.

  • Communicates with facility staff and department supervisors.

  • May work beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.

  • Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).

  • Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.

  • Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.

  • May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (with or without aide of medical devices)

  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.

  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which may include a mental and physical examination.

  • Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and /or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
