The ideal candidate must be skilled and comfortable in Pediatric Therapy, Acute Care, and inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Occupational Therapist assumes professional responsibility for providing evaluation and treatment of clients requiring services as defined by state of Alaskas Occupational Therapy Practice Act. https://www.commerce.alaska.gov/web/portals/5/pub/PT-OTStatutes.pdf
CHALLENGES:
- To provide high quality occupational therapy services to a wide variety of clients in an efficient, professional manner.
- To maintain clinical expertise while practicing in a small department in a rural community.
- Occupational therapy program development.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- This position requires a degree in Occupational Therapy from a university accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association,
- A license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Alaska, or the ability to acquire same in an appropriate time frame.
- Current BLS certification.
- Three or more years of experience in occupational therapy are preferred in a variety of clinical settings.
ENVIRONMENT:
South Peninsula Hospital is a 22 bed critical access hospital with a 28 bed Long Term Care Facility. Physical demands are moderate and may require heavy lifting, periods of prolonged standing, and the ability to assist patients as needed.
