Summary:

• Assist patients to improve their ability to perform tasks in daily living and work environments. Work with patients to develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills.
• Assist patients to improve basic motor functions & reasoning abilities, but also compensate for permanent loss of function.
• Evaluate patients to identify functional needs and deficits for therapeutic interventions. Planning and administration of treatment.
• Provision of education/training to the patient, his or her family, and other team members.
• Participation in multi-disciplinary care team and reassessment of the patient to identify response to treatment.
• Effective and timely communication with referring Physician and other team members. Participation in Performance Improvement Program.

Requirements:

• Current licensure from the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy and AHA BLS certification is required.
• Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate in English, and demonstrates knowledge in the care of patients, families, and visitors in pediatric, adolescent, and adult geriatric populations.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
• Understand surgical and medical precautions.
• Understand normal and abnormal movement patterns.
• Acute care experience required.
• Weekend coverage, with possible weekday coverage as needed.
