Summary:

With general direction, the incumbent contributes to the Districts overall climate and culture by coordinating the mentoring and volunteer programs, building relationships with the community, providing training, tracking and analyzing various data, and making recommendations as it relates to the climate and culture of WESD.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates the Districts Mentoring and Volunteer Programs.
  • Maintains and tracks data, generates reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations related to climate and culture within WESD.
  • Provides training about mentoring, volunteer, student discipline and other culture and climate programs and procedures.
  • Dispatches staff to meet the needs of a particular incident, a school, or other related areas.
  • Participates on the Climate and Culture Team.
  • Contributes to the WESD crisis management and behavior support programs.
  • Handles Districts trip reduction requirements.
  • Acts as a resource for various projects and duties with other departments based on need.
  • Researches and assists with the preparation of character education and other related grants.
  • Maintains confidentiality and appropriate discretion with information and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. In addition, verification of these required qualifications is necessary.

  • High School Diploma
  • One year of office related experience
  • Valid Arizona Department of Transportation drivers license

Preferred Qualifications:

It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.

  • Three years of experience in a school district experience

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowing local, state, and federal guidelines governing area of assignment;
  • Creating and delivering presentations;
  • Understanding of mentor and volunteer programs;
  • Using computer software related programs, including Microsoft Office applications;
  • Determining efficiencies to improve effectiveness;
  • Understanding of school district operations;
  • Knowing the Districts vision, mission and values;
  • Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with supervisors, staff, students, etc. to exchange information.
