RN POSITION SUMMARY:

The RN is responsible and accountable for directing, planning, and organizing the nursing activities on the unit for an assigned shift with focus on patient, physician and staff needs. The RN is responsible for delivering skilled patient care through the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures; for coordinating patient care through the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures; for coordinating care among patient/family, medicine, nursing, ancillary, and other team personnel; acts as patient advocate; and maintains current knowledge and standards of professional nursing practice.

RN POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience of 1-2 years Medical/Surgical/ICU/E.D./OR/PACU/OPS/NICU preferred.
  2. Current RN licensure in the state of Texas
  3. Certification per unit specific competency (i.e. BLS, CPI, etc.).
  4. NIHS Scale, stroke education, cardiac education and ortho education as per department specific competencies.

RESPIRATORY THERAPIST SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Department Director and the Manager, the Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory therapy services to patients in accordance with accepted respiratory therapy practices and established Departmental and Hospital standards of care.

RESPIRATORY THERAPIST QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. To qualify for this position, the candidate must be registered through the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  2. Candidates must be licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  3. Certification per unit specific competency (i.e. BLS, CPI, etc.).

MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services and the direct supervision of a Medical Technologist Coordinator, the Medical Laboratory Technician provides clinical laboratory services to patients in accordance with accepted practices and Departmental and Hospital standards of care.

MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of two years in an accredited college or one or more years of training in an accredited school for Medical Laboratory Technicians, or training in an approved military training program. Must be CLIA qualified for high complexity testing.
  2. Previous experience in hospital clinical laboratory preferred.
  3. Certification per unit specific competency (i.e. BLS, CPI, etc.).

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services and the direct supervision of a Medical Technologist Coordinator, the Medical Technologist provides clinical laboratory services to patients in accordance with accepted practices and Departmental and Hospital standards of care.

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum Associate Degree, Bachelors Degree preferred and completion of approved training program for Medical Technologist with MT (ASCP or AMT) certification or equivalent.
  2. Must be CLIA qualified for high complexity testing.
  3. Previous experience in clinical laboratory preferred.
  4. Certification per unit specific competency (i.e. BLS, CPI, etc.).
