Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking Lopes Tutors to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCE's Online Enrollment Operations department.
Purpose within the Organization:
The purpose of this position is to provide group or one-on-one academic support to University students who need help in either Math or Writing coursework. These roles serve online students.
While this position is a Phoenix, AZ based role, we are in an indefinitely remote status. There may be department meetings or training's that require in-person attendance (proper health and safety measures will be followed), in which advance notice will be provided.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
- Provide tutoring/coaching for students; reviewing course lectures, homework, etc.
- Review diagnostic assessments of students.
- Update CRM (official student database) with specific appointment notes for use by Faculty and Student Services Counselor.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and services provided.
- May be requested to perform administrative duties as needed.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Must have received an "A" in specific course for which you will be tutoring students (or referral from faculty).
- Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.
- Possess strong ethics and integrity.
- Outstanding customer service, organization and time management skills.
- Clear communication skills.
- Self-motivation and drive to succeed.
- Computer literacy.
