Position Summary

The Department ofAnesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of New Mexico inAlbuquerque, New Mexico invites applications for a full-time AssistantProfessor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The primary appointment would bein the Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine, Chronic PainClinic. Specifically, the Department is recruiting a fellowship trained PainAnesthesiology physician with either expertise or fellowship training in PainAnesthesiology. The candidate must have a distinct interest in traininganesthesiology residents and teaching medical students. Additionally, theselected candidate must demonstrate a willingness to collaborate in clinicalresearch endeavors and comfort working in a care team model.


TheUniversity of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (UNM HSC) is a tertiaryreferral center and the only Level 1 Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Centerfor the state of New Mexico - an ethnically and medically diverse population. The city of Albuquerque is rich in history and offers skiing, mountain biking,hiking, any much more. Albuquerque is the annual host city for theInternational Balloon Fiesta and enjoys 340 days of sunshine as well as fourdistinct seasons.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Must hold unrestricted medical license

2. Must have a M.D. or equivalent degree

3. Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology or within three years of residency and active in the certification process

4. Completion of accredited fellowship

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Resident teaching experience

2. Weekend and night call coverage

3. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
