Position Summary

The University Of New Mexico School Of Medicine,Department of Pediatrics is recruiting for two faculty positions in thePediatric Rheumatology Section. Part-time or full-time. Track, rank, andsalary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. TheDepartment of Pediatrics is a multi-specialty group of more than 100 faculty atNew Mexicos only pediatric tertiary care facility. The Childrens Hospital ofNew Mexico is an integral part of University of New Mexico Health ScienceCenter, the States premier medical educational and research institution.

The section of Pediatric Rheumatology currentlyincludes a pediatric nurse practitioner who functions as an independentprovider, two dedicated pediatric rheumatology nurses, physical/occupationaltherapy services and social work support. The section of Pediatric Rheumatologyhas a collaborative relationship with the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology atColorado Childrens to provide case review discussion and opportunities forjoint educational conferences.

The Childrens Hospital of New Mexico provides thePediatric Rheumatology section with a daytime infusion center and sedationservices with a suite for joint-related procedures. There are tremendousopportunities for growth of the clinical services and research. Teaching medicalstudents, pediatric residents and adult rheumatology fellows is an integralpart of the duties of pediatric rheumatology faculty. Recent fellowshipgraduates are encouraged to apply.

The Childrens Hospital of New Mexico is located onthe beautiful campus of the University of New Mexico in the city ofAlbuquerque. Albuquerque, with a population of 800,000, is located in thehigh desert of New Mexico. It offers the cultural advantages of a metropolitanarea with the feeling of small city living. Qualifications

MinimumQualifications:

  • Board certified / Board eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology by the American Board of Pediatrics
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Able to obtain state licensure(s) in the state of New Mexico

PreferredQualifications:

  • Completion of ACGME-accredited pediatric rheumatology fellowship
  • Experience or interest in conducting basic or clinical research
  • Experience in teaching house staff and medical students
  • Masters degree in Public Health or in Medical or Clinical Education
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
