Position Summary

The Division of Critical Care at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking a Pediatric Intensivist to join the clinical team. Salary and track will be commensurate with training and experience. This full-time position offers a competitive salary, and a rich retirement benefit program.

The position includes patient care responsibilities in a state of the art, 20 bed multi-disciplinary Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Other duties include teaching residents and medical students, a pediatric sedation service, and pediatric/neonatal ECMO. The Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Division have a long tradition of providing outstanding, comprehensive care to the children of New Mexico.

The city is famous for its diverse cultures, New Mexican cuisine, unique architecture, and proximity to unlimited outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, snow skiing/boarding, fishing, and golfing. This position is subject to criminal records screening in accordance with New Mexico law and clearance by the New Mexico Department of Health is required as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Able to obtain state licensure(s) in the state of New Mexico
  • BC/BE in Pediatric Critical Care by time of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and interest in quality improvement, research and teaching
  • Experience with ECMO
  • Experience with care of the pediatric surgical and trauma patient
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
