Position Summary

The Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery, at theUniversity of New Mexico is seeking a full-time academic vascular surgeon. Thisposition is a replacement position with UNM Vascular and will be recruited atOpen Rank level and will support every aspect of Vascular Surgery. Appointmentand salary will be commensurate with level of experience.

The University of New Mexico has a well-rounded vascularsurgery practice with five full time and one part time vascular surgeon.Practice encompasses all aspects of vascular surgery with robust programs forcomplex open and endovascular aortic reconstructions, ECMO and PEinterventions, thoracic outlet syndrome, limb salvage and dialysis access. Wealso have an on-site vein clinic that the new faculty will be expected toparticipate in. The hospital has a state-of-the-art GE Discovery hybridoperating room currently with access to CV cath lab and outpatient surgerysuites. A brand-new hospital tower is under construction which will have two GEAlia hybrid operating rooms expected to be completed in Spring of 2025. TheUniversity of New Mexico is also the only Level I trauma Center in the statewith approximately 3,500 admissions yearly with both vascular and traumasurgeons participating in care of vascular trauma patients.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board certified/eligible in Vascular Surgery
  • Eligible for licensure in New Mexico
  • Eligible for State of New Mexico Board of Pharmacy certification
  • Eligible for federal DEA registration
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in open and endovascular vascular surgery
  • Desire to pursue leadership in an academic medical center
  • Interest in clinical, research and teaching aspect of academics
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
