Position Summary

The Department of Surgery, Divisionof Vascular Surgery, at the University of New Mexico is seeking a full-timeacademic vascular surgeon. This position will be recruited at the Open Ranklevel and will support every aspect of Vascular Surgery. Appointment and salary will be commensuratewith level of experience.

The University of New Mexico has awell-rounded vascular surgery practice with five full time and one part timevascular surgeon. Practice encompassesall aspects of vascular surgery with robust programs for complex open andendovascular aortic reconstructions, ECMO and PE interventions, thoracic outletsyndrome, limb salvage and dialysis access. We also have an on-site vein clinic that thenew faculty will be expected to participate in. The hospital has a state-of-the-art GEDiscovery hybrid operating room currently with access to CV cath lab andoutpatient surgery suites. A brand-newhospital tower is under construction which will have two GE Alia hybridoperating rooms expected to be completed in Spring of 2025. The University of New Mexico is also the onlyLevel I trauma Center in the state with approximately 3,500 admissions yearlywith both vascular and trauma surgeons participating in care of vascular traumapatients.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board certified/eligiblein Vascular Surgery
  • Eligible for New Mexico MedicalLicense
  • Eligible for New Mexico Board ofPharmacy certification
  • Eligible for DEA registration
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in endovascular vascularsurgery
  • Desire to pursue leadership in anacademic medical center
  • Interest in clinical, research andteaching aspect of academics
  • A demonstrated commitment todiversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working withbroadly diverse communities
