General Description of Duties: The Destination Accessibility Operations Manager plays an important role in making New Mexico a more accessible state. As the leader of a team, this position oversees daily operations of the Destination Accessibility program including equipment rental and other tourism-related activities. This position also assists in advocating for accessibility and accessible tourism. Duties and Responsibilities of an Operations Manager include but are not limited to:
- Manages the daily operations of an equipment rental operation and accessible tourism program including staff supervision and warehouse management. And displays impeccable customer service and a professional demeanor. Exceeds customer needs by anticipating expectations, actively listening to customer, quickly resolving issues, and expressing genuine care about the customers experience.
- Acts as a representative of Adelante and Destination Accessibility at public speaking engagements which may include on-camera interviews and presentations to large audiences.
- Stays informed about the local tourism industry and presents new ideas as appropriate for program growth. And continuously researches mobility equipment products and makes recommendations about new products to add to the fleet.
- Acts as an advocate for accessibility and accessible tourism and identifies areas where accessibility can be improved. And implements new accessible tourism initiatives which may include tours, site evaluations, and outdoor recreation activities.
- As the program lead, works with staff to plan and coordinate equipment pick-up and delivery routes, responds to customer needs, and ensures timely delivery of equipment to customers.
- Proactively monitors reservations and communicates with customers if reservations cannot be fulfilled. Ensures reservations load accurately into the reservations system and accurately reflect the available equipment inventory.
- Oversees inventory management including receiving, quality control, accurate data entry, and auditing. And operates vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently as required; including sanitation equipment. Responsible for maintaining the warehouse and equipment, ensuring the warehouse is organized and both are clean and hazard free.
- Maintains positive working relationships and professional level contacts with individuals or entities, internally and externally, in order to coordinate and maximize efficient services.
- Supervises, schedules, trains, coaches, and disciplines program staff and participates in the hiring process for new program employees.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent applicable experience required.
- One (1) or more years related experience (preferrable experience in a warehouse, retail, and/or customer service environment). Experience working with individuals with disabilities or seniors preferred.
- One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
Other Requirements: Must pass pre-employment drug and TB screen, and Agency, Federal and State Department of Health background investigations. Additional background investigations may be required depending on the job assignment. Must have and maintain a valid NM driver's license. Job Type: Full-Time M-F, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Pay From: $45,000 - $50,000 annually ($21.63 $24.03/hr) DOE.
