Position Grade 11
Position Summary

Designs, develops, coordinates, and facilitates the execution of specified projects and initiatives for a major, multifaceted operating entity of the University. Establishes project priorities and schedules, in line with strategic plans and operating objectives. Provides specialized advice, facilitation, and support to management, faculty, staff, and/or students in the development and implementation of effective systems, procedures, programs, and/or practices. May oversee one or more specified key operational or business functions for the unit, as appropriate to individual requirements.

Oversee the operations of the Open Recreational Program student employees, including a daily supervision of weight room, free weight room and cardio room, fitness area. As the Open Recreational Coordinator, I enforce the policies and procedures of Johnson Center.
Address various building/equipment issues.
Ensure student employees provide customer service, while maintaining a clean, and culture friendly environment.
Ensure acceptable professionalism and job performance during day-to-day operations.
Recruit, hire and train Gym Attendants (Student employees)
Train and prepare student employees for acquisition of supervisor title.
Maintain accountability with student supervisor staff.
Oversee all aspects of the gym team.
Promote and schedules all open rec hours.
Monitor the usage and scheduling of the facilities.
Provide regular updates to supervisor and recommendations for improvements.
Maintain files, records and prepares reports as necessary.
Manages inventory, storage, and maintenance of recreational spaces and equipment.
Ensure facilities are well-maintained.
Provide risk management oversight to recreational program operations and implements procedures to ensure the safety of participants and employees.
Ensure safety guidelines are adhered to and reports safety issues to appropriate personnel and recommends improvements.

Oversee equipment room - rental of sport equipment, laundry (towels, etc.).
Additional Coordination between Athletics, Health Exercise and Sports Sciences and Recreational Services
Responsible for supervision and operations during Johnson Center business hours.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
