Who we are

Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of Americas top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.

Primary Function

The Operations Vendor Analyst is responsible for managing vendor invoices, reconciliation, testing and analysis. This role will support the Loan Administration team to ensure proper processes and controls around vendor expenses.

Principal Duties

  • Build and execute a comprehensive expense and fee management process.

  • Leverage finance/accounting, excellent communication, analytic and project management skills to:

    • Receive, reconcile, track, and submit invoices for payment for the Document Curative team.

    • Ensure timely payment of invoices.

    • Test invoiced expenses from escrow administration and document curative to ensure accuracy.

    • Develop and maintain reporting for use by Departments, Management and External Counterparties

    • Fee oversight and testing for Lien Release, Partial Release, Assumptions, CEMA/COOP fees.

    • Assist with analysis of actual and forecast data, make recommendations for improvement of forecast.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of existing business processes and reporting.

  • Clearly articulate and present ideas and findings to a varied audience including senior management.

  • Performs additional projects and duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

  • 2+ years of related experience

  • SQL & Excel experience required

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

  • Strong business communication skills with an ability to work well in a collaborative environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to multi-task, respond well to pressure and deadlines, and work well individually and in a collaborative environment.

  • Fast learner - able to assimilate new ideas and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Prior work experience performing business or data analysis is a plus.
