Carpenter Company has an immediate opening for Operator B/Laminator 2nd Shift in the Carpet Cushion department at our Temple TX manufacturing plant.

Responsible for the safe operation of a specific piece of equipment used to manufacturer components and or/ finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule. Forklift certification required and will be provided.

Operator B / Laminator Operator - Carpet Cushion - 2nd Shift - Start time 4:00 pm


Ability to lift Carpet Cushion rolls that weigh between 35 to 90 lbs.


Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Making sure rolls meet length and thickness specifications by doing multiple roll checks
  • Reworking defective or damaged rolls
  • Making sure each roll that gets wrapped meets quality standards
  • Cleaning as needed as well as helping others when needed


Provide relief and/or assistance of other operators as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have the ability to read a basic tape measure. Must have basic reading, writing and math skills Must have some computer experience and be able to use a computer in day to day operations. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, holidays and call-in with little notice.

a. Must be able to read and completely understand the labeling process and read and write English.

b. Must maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment.

c. Must have the ability to learn and operate a Accumulator Machine

d. Performs machine operations according to customers specifications.

e. Conducts quality checks on all materials to ensure the product meets all specifications.

f. Monitors the equipment to make sure that downtime is kept to a minimum.

g. Records pertinent data into the recording system.

h. Must follow a prepared production schedule to cut slabs of foam into useable components for internal and external customers.

i. Must follow work instructions to maintain quality requirements.

j. Must communicate with management to insure the proper labeling of cut blocks.


k. Other duties as assigned by management.

l. Forklift and/or Clamp-lift used daily.



Ability to read a basic tape measure.

Some computer experience.

Forklift experience preferred.
