Job Description
OrthoArizona is seeking a full-time experienced Physician Assistant for a busy orthopedic sports medicine surgeon. The practice has no trauma call obligations and features primarily elective surgery. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years as an orthopedic PA skills with surgical assisting experience.
General Responsibilities:
- Assist in surgery 2-3 days per week
- Assist in clinic seeing patients 2-3 days per week
- Participate in rounds with the supervising physician
- Respond to patient calls after hours and on weekends as needed
- Provide patient management - including pre and post-operative visits, wound checks, injections in clinic
- Document patient information and care in electronic medical records
- Educate patients and families regarding medical treatment
- Work collaboratively with all members of the health care team
Requirements:
- Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program
- Current AZ license, NCCPA certified, current CPR certification
- Experience in Orthopedics
- Pharmaceutical knowledge of common medications ordered for pre and post-operative patient management
- CV and letters of recommendation
