Packer / Utility Operator - Conover

Carpenter Co is currently seeking a detail oriented individual to join our Conover, NC plant as a Packer in our Bedding Department.

Job Summary:

Pack and label product per customer specifications. Communicate with fellow employees and supervision on a regular basis. Major challenges includes the physical ability required in performance of job. Lifting on a repetitive basis is required. Work in normal plant environment with exposure to temperature changes.

Education:

High school diploma or GED

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Some computer skills needed.

Essential Functions:

• Read route slips and packing label to ensure product is proper size and proper grade.
• Lift product onto tables.
• Run rails through the rail bagger.
• Place identification label on each kit.
• Secure package.
• Scan kits and place rails in box.
• Place labels on box for shipping.
