    1.0 FTE, Temporary position begins March 25, 2021 ends June 3, 2021. Position open until filled.

    Hourly rate depends on experience.

    Summit paraeducators supervise and assist students during their daily learning. Additional responsibilities include: supervising in classrooms while teacher presents online lessons, supporting students in organizational systems and work habits, creating relationships with students to enable 1:1 support in coursework, research and projects, evaluating student progress on work assignments and communicating work/goal completion with teachers. In addition, the para will supervise students during lunch, recess and field trips, and, as necessary, attend in-services and staff meetings.

    The elements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this position:

    • A college degree, preferably in education

    • Experience working directly with students in an academic support role: teaching, tutoring or substitute teaching

    • Strong skills in collaboration, coordination, technology and organization

    • A understanding and passion for middle school students

    • A dedication to supporting students in habits of mind, study skills, organizational structures and project management
