Position Description: Paraprofessional I ELL
Hourly Rate: $15.23
Work Calendar: 10-month (195 Days)
Hours per Day: 7
I. General Description:

To assist the teacher in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and environment in order that students may learn effectively.

II. Qualifications:

1. Associate of Arts degree or completion of paraprofessional certification required.
2. Must possess basic computer and clerical skills.
3. Must possess a positive attitude towards students, teachers, staff and parents.
4. Prior experience working with high school students desired.
5. Must be bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English.

III. Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains punctual and regular attendance.
2. Be willing to carry out a teachers objectives for the lessons taught.
3. Support the teachers classroom expectations/discipline rules.
4. Assist with the Written Individual Compensatory Plan (WICP) development process.
5. Coordinate meetings between teachers and parents.
6. Offer individual or small group instructional support for English language learners.
7. Assists with the administration of the English proficiency assessment.
8. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues.
9. Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents and community.
10. Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
