  • Additional Information:
    Definition:Under supervision of site Principal, this position involves the coordination and implementation of the Title I parent involvement component for the purpose of helping parents of at-risk students become actively involved in the educational process.

    Essential Functions:

    Tasks:
    Provides community resource information and referrals when necessary to meet the basic needs of students and their families.
    Serves as school point of contact for McKinney Vento and students in Foster Care
    Assists in promoting and communicating the attendance policies / academic expectations.
    Serves as a major communication link between home and school; liaison to parents and teachers, school counselor, principals, nurses, in their communications with parents.
    Makes home visits as necessary when accompanied by a staff member.
    Coordinates volunteer efforts in the school.
    Coordinates and assists in the facilitation of school events and Title I parent training workshops, as per the School Integrated Action Plan.
    Maintains documentation on parent meetings/workshops (sign-in sheets, agendas, and minutes).
    Assists parents and students with navigating the school system (i.e. PowerSchool Parent Portal, Special Education services, parent-teacher conferences/meetings).
    Must attend PSA meetings/training and take back information to the Principal and/or staff.
    Performs related duties as requested within federal funding regulations.

    Knowledge, Skills, and other Characteristics:
    Knowledge of District policies and procedures
    Knowledge of District programs such as PowerSchool and Google Suite
    Knowledge of school, community and tribal resources
    Knowledge of barriers hindering parent involvement in school services and student academic achievement
    Skill in the use of a personal computer
    Skill in following written and oral instructions
    Skill in oral and written communication
    Skill in preparing letters and flyers
    Establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff, parents, and community

    Physical Requirements:
    Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion, vision to monitor and lifting up to 15 pounds.

    Qualifications:
    High school diploma or equivalent
    Must possess an Arizona driver license
    Fluency in English and Spanish preferred

    Salary Grade: 6 Hourly Pay: $13.00 Hours per Day: 8 Days in Contract: 211 Start Date: 2022/2023 School Year
