Job Description
The Patient Advocate oversees patient care situations that require higher-level monitoring to ensure patients receive timely information and services related to their care.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- 2 years experience in patient facing healthcare, patient relations or hospitality preferred.
- 1 year experience using an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Experience handling sensitive information.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card through Arizona Department of Public Safety (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Immunizations as per internal policies procedures (Flu shot, PPD, HEP B
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified. If not already obtained, CPR and First aid certifications must be completed within 90 days of employment.
- Associate degree in chemical dependency or substance abuse with an emphasis in counseling: or equivalent experience or bachelors degree in social work or other behavioral science with an emphasis in counseling or equivalent experience.
- Ability to obtain training in crisis de-escalation within 90 days of employment.
- Fluent, reading/ speaking English and Spanish.
- Pass ALTA Interpreter Certification with a minimum level 8 in Spanish.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals, safety rules and operational instructions.
- Basic public speaking skills: ability to speak professionally and effectively in formal and informal settings before large and small groups of employees, as well as internal/external clients or representatives in both formal and informal settings.
