Position Description
This position is responsible for assuring smooth operation of the clinic patient flow and serves as the primary contacts for patients. Responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing necessary paperwork before the patient visits, receiving patients, and maintaining records. In addition, this position is responsible for processing charges for clinic services, filing insurance claims, responding to requests for information from patients and insurance companies and maintaining related information for the department. Employees may have cash handling responsibilities.

Major/Essential Functions
- Verifies and updates Medicaid/Medicare/Insurance information through TMHP and insurance websites for eligibility and benefits while maintaining patient files accurately. Updates CBIZ and EMR with obtained information
- Pre-Certification and/or authorization for all procedures and office visits. Serves as liaison to third-party payers to provide information on pending services in order to avoid denials
- Maintains familiarity and compliance with institution policies and procedures as they pertain to patient registration and eligibility. Cross training in all clinic pods
- Answers incoming requests from patients and staff regarding eligibility and covered benefits
