Foulger-Pratt Companies, a leading multi-industry firm, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Specialist/Accountant to join our dynamic team in Potomac, MD. The Payroll Specialist/Accountant will report to the payroll supervisor and will be responsible for the preparation of the biweekly payroll for over 250 employees across four payroll companies; review and ensure the accuracy of approved timesheets and make approved changes to employee profiles within payroll software. This position will work with human resources and management to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data; will be the administrator of the electronic timekeeping system; ensure employee changes are entered correctly and made timely with proper authorization and adherence to policy and compliance with the federal and state regulations. This position will complete other assigned tasks from the payroll supervisor and will be assigned other accounting duties from the corporate services department.

Ideal candidates will have strong customer service and communication skills with a minimum of 3 years of experience processing payroll for 100+ employees and/or multiple companies. Candidates must have excellent math and excel skills, the ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment, and be able to multi-task and meet deadlines. Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent; classes taken toward an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting.
